I just found Pytone on Friday and I think it's GREAT!
I'm very curious about controlling Pytone from the shell. How is that done? I'd love to set up some keybindings in my window manager that would skip/pause/play/etc no matter what window I have focused. I can do this with xmms with the -f/-p etc switches. Does Pytone have something similar?
Thanks for the great player!

There is a pytonectl program included which should do exactly what you want.

Is it just me, or is there no "play previous song" ?

No, at the moment there is no play previous song, and the secret plan was to never implement it. ;-) Seriously, you're not the first to ask for this feature, so expect it in one of the next versions.
