this time positive news ;) (pytone 3.0.1 from source)
I'm running PyTone on Ubuntu Hardy with PulseAudio. Also available from the repos is libao-pulse.
So libao supports pulseaudio backend. Its trivial to add it. All that seems to be required is to add "pulse" to the valid configalternative list. (I also made alsa the default for myself)
config.py:421: driver = configalternatives("alsa", ["alsa", "pulse", "arts", "esd"])
config.py:444: driver = configalternatives("alsa", ["alsa", "pulse", "arts", "esd"])
So far I don't know about any special options that can be given for this driver.
