Hello, I want to use PyTone in a home-entertainment environment, as I is the best platform I found so far. With a few things missing:
a) LCD-output b) (consumer) infrared receiver (lirc) c) integration into freevo
For the home entertainment a & b are fairly important, and I found drivers for both in python, the question is has anyone done similar plugins, or ideas for the best approach for integration.
my questions are: a: the LCD does not have ncruses interface, so I would have to do bits of the layout myself, where do I start best
b: The lirc interface does not wait for events, but sends them how would I do that
c: Freevo is a multimedia platform, which I think could do with a real musicbox plugin like pytone. Has anyone thought of integration?

Actually, I've implemented LCD output for the first version of PyTone (which was called PyJuke then). But that's a long time ago.

You have to generate your own layout, since AFAIC there is no UI library for LCD screens.

I do not fully understand this question. What events are you talking about? The events used in PyTone?
